Hello everyone,
I kept meaning to blog about this amazing story:
An Australian cattle dog named Sophie adventure started this past November. Her owners and pup hit rough seas during a day trip along the Great Barrier Reef…Sophie fell overboard. “We took our eyes off her for a moment, and she was gone” Says Jan Griffith. They searched for her that day and the next and returned home devasted.
Meanwhile, Sophie hit the surf, spam more than five miles to shore, and lived 4 months on the largely deserted island. She began to catch her own food; she lived on shellfish, lizards, and at least one baby goat. “Eating kibble to hunting is a huge adjustment. What she did was extraordinary,” says animal behaviorist Teka Ludovico.
During a routine check of the island, rangers caught Sophie and returned her to the Griffiths.
